Good Article on Bullet Train Noses
It's the 21st Century and you would think that something as high-tech as a Japanese Bullet Train would be completely built by machines... NOPE. This is an art and I hope it stays this way..

Bulk of Shopping Still Takes Place in a Real Store
I'm a software engineer by profession, so if there's a chance to automate something and make it less dependent on human interaction, then I usually go for it. But for buying stuff, I like having a human presence. This article and infographic says a lot.

Squaring Numbers Easily in Your Head
I remember taking a course in Junior High called Math Sense. It taught me how to do math really fast in my head. As an adult, I really do not remember any of those tricks. To make things worse, I depend heavily on Excel for all my calculations. SAD...
I saw this cool trick on squaring number. Now, I am motivated to find out more quick tricks. Original post here

Man Defeats Great White Shark Wrestling Match
No way can this be real... but it is, I suppose. The guy had to take out the shark because it got caught in a net that was meant for tuna.

Young, Rich, Poker... WTH
I thought this was a fad but of course I'm wrong. Turns out that even some of my closest coworkers make a good passive income with playing online poker. Three-hours in the afternoon, every day for a month, 10 games at once at $0.10 a hand, multiple screens, and HAVING FUN resulted in a modest $2000. That's nothing to laugh about when the guy isn't even taking it seriously like these guys below.

Awesome story about young twitpic entrepenuer
Excerpt for the posting... Noah's personal notes.
- Turned down an 8 figure buyout for Twitpic because it was too much fun.
- Achieved personal milestones: #1 – have a company worth 8 figures by 24, #2 – have a company generating 7 figures/year in revenue by 25
- Presented Twitpic to Twitter
- Moved to South Carolina because of The Patriot, the warm weather, and the beach
- Total investment into Twitpic was $5,000
- Claims to be “the nice guy who finished first.”
Speeding up database queries
Awesome quick reference guide. I wish more IT managers knew that database development is the crux in all development. A weak SQL developer who's strong in Java or .NET is useless. Database queries are one of biggest PITA bottlenecks in high traffic, high usage apps.
